How have you been?
On my end, I’ve recently started tasting Chinese herbs.
It’s an assignment for my TCM course. I’m learning about their “Four Qi”, “Five Flavors”, and how they “directional tendancies”.
And I’ve already had quite a few unexpected discoveries after tasting the first five herbs.
For someone like me, who loves to taste, smell, and experience the world through the body, tasting herbs is honestly such a treat.
And interestingly, the tasting method works really well for tea too. I think I’ll bring some of it into my 2026 black tea tasting workshop.
Actually, I’m here to announce the second casual tea gathering of 2026 on Friday, 21 August, 19h00 - 22h00
This is not a profitable initiative. But it feels so nourishing and wholesome to me that I trust it will take us somewhere in the long run.:)

Why do I organise evening tea gatherings in Brussels:
1. I want you to experience genuinely good Chinese tea. I want to give you a reference point for what good Chinese tea can actually taste like and how it can so naturally connect people. Connection will be a byproduct - it’ll happen unintentionally.
2. I miss having a place： A place with a friendly atmosphere among friends and strangers. A place where you can arrive whenever you like, leave whenever you like—but from experience, you’ll probably stay until the very end. A place where there is no pressure to perform, no networking agenda, no expectation to be interesting. Tea, Conversations. Silence, if you need it.
3. Tea changes people. Our body responds to it. Some words people have used: Good tea could make you feel braver, more confident, warm from the inside, grounded—like sitting next to a wise grandmother, more creative. And often, you’ll sleep well afterwards.
When I am on Focusmate, I hear this a lot: I really like your vibe ( and they'll favorite me ). I just wanna tell these friends that it's the tea, it's the tea that I‘ve been drinking.
I wish I could share with them. But I can share with you!
