This revealing and surprisingly witty portrait of the modern workplace takes a look behind closed doors. During performance reviews, managers and employees strike a balance between criticism, understanding, and awkwardness. With humour, awkward silences, and a keen, observant eye, De manager reveals what unfolds during performance reviews—moments where employees are evaluated and managers attempt to provide direction. The piece highlights dilemmas and raises questions about the nature of leadership and workplace power dynamics. What happens when people try to connect within a system driven by performance and results?
