Clube do Pedal 30 Years

Established in 1996, Clube do Pedal marks three decades as a gathering space for cyclists. The initiative promotes regular physical activity and showcases the city from a cycling perspective, combining sport, leisure and culture. An IPSOS global cycling study found that 42% of Brazilians cannot ride a bicycle. Among 30 nations surveyed, Brazil ranks last in bicycle use for exercise: 17% versus a global average of 28%. According to the World Health Organization, Brazil is the most sedentary country in Latin America and ranks fifth globally. Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics data shows 47% of Brazilians are sedentary; among young people, the figure reaches 84%, indicating insufficient physical activity to maintain health.
