A Seat at the Table: For Artists Who Miss Their Inner Circle
About the event
If you are reading this, you probably know the feeling of being surrounded by art in Vienna, yet missing a community of people who genuinely connect through it. I am a musician who came from a background where the artistic circle was our second family. I’m not here to start just another social club; I want to recreate that genuine artistic community — a place where art, culture, ideas, and curiosity can become the foundation of real human connection. And you don’t need to call yourself an artist to belong here. Maybe you make music, paint, write, act, photograph, design, or create in some other way. Or maybe you simply love music, cinema, literature, visual art, theatre, philosophy, or culture and miss having people around you who share that curiosity. Both are equally welcome. What we’ll do: We’ll meet every Tuesday evening in a relaxed atmosphere. There is no formal program and no pressure to “network.” The idea is simply to have a space where people who care about art and culture can meet regularly, get to know each other, and have the kind of conversations that are often difficult to find elsewhere. We might talk about something we’re working on, a piece of music we discovered, a film, a book, an exhibition, an idea, life in Vienna — or simply whatever comes naturally that evening. Looking ahead: After our first few meetups, one thing became clear: there really are people in Vienna looking for this kind of community. Some of us have already started getting to know each other, but the circle is still new, and we want to keep it open to new people. That’s why, from now on, we’re turning this into a weekly gathering — every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. You don’t need to know anyone, you don’t need to have attended any of the previous gatherings, and you don’t need to be a professional artist — or even consider yourself an artist at all. If art and culture genuinely matter to you, you’re welcome. There’s also no expectation to come every week. Come whenever you feel like joining us. Just come as you are, meet some interesting people, share a drink and a conversation, and hopefully become part of the community we’re slowly building together.
