Children’s Workshop: Surreal Subjects
About the event
Inspired by the work of Lulua Alyahya, as part of the current artist featured in Artists’ Rooms, children are invited to create surreal portraits by combining familiar people, animals and everyday objects in unexpected ways. Through drawing and collage, children experiment with scale, placement and unusual pairings to create curious characters and compositions that blur the line between the familiar and the imagined. Throughout the activity, participants draw creative prompts that encourage them to further develop their surreal portraits or landscapes, inspiring unexpected narratives and imaginative connections. This workshop is hosted by Art Jameels education specialist Shamma Alkhoori and encourages creativity and collaboration, while teaching children to explore through hands-on making and thinking. This workshop is free to attend and is suitable for children aged 6-13. Early registration is advised as spaces are limited. No prior art experience is required. All materials and equipment are provided. SEE ALL EVENTS
