Presenting a showcase of the unique repertoire of the Banaras Gharana, in tribute to late Pandit Rajan Mishra in the year of his 75th birth anniversary. The concert will be presented by the legendary vocal maestro’s sons, Pandit Ritesh Mishra and Pandit Rajnish Mishra. This will be an evening of khayal performance that will bring alive the unique style and compositions of a rich and storied gharana of Hindustani classical music.Recipients of the Padma Bhushan award, Pandit Rajan Mishra along with his brother Pandit Sajan Mishra achieved global renown for introducing the world to the long form khayal compositions of the Banaras Gharana.
