As a token of parting, the husband offers her a winnowing basket and begins to compose a poem... Tōru (Lord Tōru) Rokujo-kawara Palace, where Minister Minamoto no Tōru once enjoyed recreating scenes of salt-making of Michinoku Province. The spirit of Tōru appears in the ruins of the palace to perform a dance of reminiscence.
