Digger

The latest film from Oscar-winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, The Revenant) is both drama and satire, and features a spectacular performance by Tom Cruise as a crazed billionaire oil baron who tries to save the world from a catastrophe of his own making. Also starring Sandra Hüller and John Goodman. Tom Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, a billionaire who’s made a fortune from the oil business, and is seen as one of the most powerful men in the world. When his company causes an ecological disaster that even threatens to unleash a nuclear war, Rockwell believes he’s the man to save humanity from catastrophe. What follows is an absurd, dark tale of power, selfishness and the thin line between heroism and egomania.
