Stablecoins Grow Up: From Crypto Rails to Real-World Money Stablecoins have been part of crypto for years. But increasingly, the interesting question isn’t what they are — it’s what happens next. Once primarily used to move money around crypto markets, stablecoins are increasingly becoming infrastructure for payments, cross-border transfers and the growing intersection between traditional finance and digital assets. So are stablecoins finally moving beyond crypto? Could they become part of how we pay and move money every day? And as fintechs, payment companies and governments take them more seriously, what still stands in the way? We’ll explore real-world adoption, payments and cross-border use cases, the evolving UK regulatory landscape, and what comes next — including whether stablecoins could provide the payment rails for an increasingly AI-driven economy.
