Mezzo-soprano Irene Sorozabal and harpist Michela Amici present a program of 17th-century vocal music from Italy and Spain. You will hear songs by Barbara Strozzi and others, accompanied by the Baroque harp. The concert takes place in the courtyard of the Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam during the Grachtenfestival. Music in the courtyard of the Canal Museum The concert takes place in the courtyard of the Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam, part of the Grachtenfestival. The location lends the music an intimate atmosphere, right in the heart of the historic canal belt. The musicians Mezzo-soprano Irene Sorozábal studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and sings with ensembles such as Cappella Amsterdam and the Netherlands Chamber Choir. She focuses on early music and works from historical performance practice. Harpist Michela Amici performs internationally as a soloist and continuo player and has collaborated with Holland Baroque, among others. She was artist in residence at Muziekgebouw in de Branding.
