The Stanley Street Gallery Poetry Program is a quarterly Saturday afternoon event in a contemporary art space in Darlinghurst. The gallery has supported poets and poetry through the longstanding facilitation of Poetry Alive, and this program has been held since 2024. We celebrate the 2026 Red Room National Poetry Month this August in hosting contemporary Australian poet and prose writer, Joanne Burns, accompanied by two poets who have yet to be announced. Joanne Burns has had many books of poetry published since the early 1970s. Her most recent book, apparently, was published by Giroamondo Press in 2019.
