What is this ZINE workshop about?This will be an accessible, community-centred zine-making workshop exploring storytelling through independent publishing.We will be exploring personal stories, perspectives and lived experiences. Participants will use collage, drawing, writing prompts and simple folding techniques to create their own pocketbook zine.

About Julia Joy, your facilitator:Julia Joy is a multi-disciplinary, process-based artist and community arts facilitator based in Cape Town, South Africa.Her art practice is rooted in analogue expression as a means of inward listening, meaning-making, and holding space for what is tender and real. This is work she returns to first for herself: a practice of radical self-care, curiosity, and discipline. Alongside her personal practice, she facilitates process-based workshops and creative programmes across community, youth, and cultural spaces. Her facilitation centres on exploration, experimentation, joy, and wonder, creating trauma-informed environments where participants can express themselves freely, reconnect with their inner worlds, and re-imagine the ones they inhabit.
