Luminary members are invited to join curator Mel Becker Solomon to explore Beyond Form: Abstraction at Midcentury and discover how abstraction emerged as a powerful visual language between 1940 and 1970, a period of global upheaval and transformation.
Enjoy curatorial insights into the various sources and techniques of abstraction during this period—from collage to word play to sweeping gestures—and an intimate exhibition viewing of these works, featuring artists such as Ruth Asawa, Helen Frankenthaler, Sam Gilliam, and Yayoi Kusama. A reception with bites and beverages will follow.
