About the event

We are delighted to announce the four finalist projects of the 12th edition of DNAppunti coreografici: EXMIMI by Alessandro Paschitto STeReO by gruppocorp3 Performing Nostalgia by Giulia Cannas girare le viti by Noemi Piva EXMIMI is a hybrid dramaturgy that creates a short circuit between words, action and new media, choreography, dramatic text and video interference, in search of a mnemonic device. Is it possible to revive an unrealised dream? Can the body guide us in recovering a desire from the past in order to overcome a crisis in the present? Can it become a muscular archive, allowing us to retrieve what we ourselves experienced long ago? When we were very young. And, without asking questions, we had all the answers. STeReO stages a body in exploration: a body that fights and fights against itself, torn between judgement, inherited patterns and a visceral desire to discover and reveal itself. A body that becomes other bodies: a screen, a reflective surface in which to examine the discomfort of living inside an uncomfortable container, a covering of skin and bones permeable to the harmful weight of imposed words and thoughts. The stage action thus becomes a device for struggle, a space for reclaiming, discovering and reasserting oneself. Performing Nostalgia is an artistic experiment that forms part of a broader research project into the choreographer’s Albanian roots. It is a danced lecture performance, both nostalgic and “pre-nostalgic”, conceived as a continuation of and reflection on the recent choreographic work Alba. The project explores memory, language and identity as unstable territories, questioning the relationship between belonging and imagination. The diary becomes a daily practice and a performative action: writing at least once a day in order to remember everything, to forget nothing, to become a sponge. To absorb, translate and transform into gesture and words the sensations, waves of return and energetic and emotional shifts that pass through the body. The stage device intertwines autobiographical and historical storytelling, movement and live writing. girare le viti stems from a reflection on geography as a language of power, capable of shaping our perception of reality. Cartography, by organising space and representing it according to specific criteria, becomes a system through which the world is not merely described, but defined, reconstructed and regulated. The project develops across two interconnected levels: on the one hand, an analysis of the “Outside”, shaped by imposed geographies and power structures that organise urban, rural and industrial spaces; on the other, an individual and subjective experience of geography, considering how each person inhabits, perceives and navigates these places, creating emotional and personal maps that interact with official ones. It is within the fractures generated by these opposing perspectives that the project takes shape. The result is a performance combining movement, sound, installation and poetic text. DNAppunti coreografici is a support project for young Italian choreography Under 35, promoted and supported in collaboration with Centro Nazionale di produzione della danza Virgilio Sieni, Operaestate Festival/CSC – Centro per la scena contemporanea del Comune di Bassano del Grappa, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Gender Bender Festival, and Triennale Milano Teatro.
