Meet Dian Sahertian-Boers
At the centre is Dian, a young woman who became terminally ill. How did Dian view her mortality? What were her desires? Did death mean the end for her, or would she live on in another way? The conversations between Dian and Nastaran form the beating heart of Heartbeats.
Experience meaningful theatre
This performance does not shy away from death. Instead, it shows what gives life meaning. Nastaran created Heartbeats with the team behind her successful performances Songs for no one and This is not a dance. Dian's words, the light and the music follow their own heartbeat in a constantly changing space.
Let yourself be carried away
Heartbeats is a documentary, physical and visual performance. A world beyond death is visualised through the combination of Dian's story, light and music. Let yourself be carried away by this unique theatre experience and reflect on the value of life.
