DC Delights: Kennedy Center Guided Tour (Rating: D FUN)

Approximately 5.63 miles with 322 elevation gain.
Description: We will begin our hike from [Theodore Roosevelt Island](https://www.nps.gov/this/index.htm) parking lot and head over the [Key Bridge](https://www.nps.gov/places/000/francis-scott-key-bridge.htm)[ ](https://www.nps.gov/places/000/francis-scott-key-bridge.htm)to climb the [Exocist Steps](https://www.nps.gov/places/capital-traction-company-union-station-exorcist-steps.htm)[ ](https://www.nps.gov/places/capital-traction-company-union-station-exorcist-steps.htm) into [Georgetown](https://www.georgetowndc.com/).
From here, we will enjoy a leisurely walk down [Wisconsin Avenue](https://www.georgetowndc.com/neighborhood/wisconsin-avenue/)[ ](https://www.georgetowndc.com/neighborhood/wisconsin-avenue/)to the [Georgetown Waterfront](https://www.georgetowndc.com/neighborhood/georgetown-waterfront/) and over to the [Kennedy Center](https://www.kennedy-center.org/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=299478384&gbraid=0AAAABBMbcUh7UQT5nce6nYQ3paUCb_DrL&gclid=CjwKCAjwt7XQBhBkEiwAtStpp5w1UgZNtq8gE-NQ3JD9fZgxYLyANQGxAe__JuFytV7LnFE4j-pa6RoCYZQQAvD_BwE).

The tour can last between 60 to 75 minutes.
A [Group Tour Form](https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=a_soXcsmIE-0cyrkEu4pX0GCWw1TxjxJsogSutnxpOdUQjZLQktVWjBaSEs3VkpSNjJOTkpUNTNYNC4u) was completed for us for [Labor Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_Day), Monday, September 7 at 11am.
PLEASE NOTE: Much is happening behind the scenes at the Kennedy Center. The volunteers made it very clear that things could change at any time and that they would keep us informed.
We will hike back over the [Teddy Roosevelt Bridge](https://trbridge.ddot.dc.gov/) pedestrian walkway to the Teddy Roosevelt Island Parking lot.
OPTIONAL: To complete our hike, for those interested, we can do the [loop](https://www.nps.gov/this/index.htm) around [Theodore Roosevelt Island](https://www.nps.gov/this/index.htm)
Facilities: Kennedy Center
Pace: The pace will be about 2.5 mph.
Bring: adequate water/hydration, snacks/lunch, and sturdy hiking/walking shoes.

Where to Meet: Meet at the Roosevelt Island parking lot at 9:00 to allow everyone to get signed in and ready to hike at 9:30 am. The Hatchback of my Honda HRV will be up.
By Metro: Roosevelt is a 10-15 minute walk from the Rosslyn Metro station toward the Key Bridge. A short paved connecting trail leads downhill to the Roosevelt parking lot. A small green sign indicating Roosevelt Island at 0.25 mile on the right.
By Car: Drivers can only reach Theodore Roosevelt Island from the Virginia side of the river in the northbound lanes of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. After Memorial Bridge, follow the signs and turn right into the parking lot.
