Dagmar Zuniga
About the event
Nicaraguan-American musician Dagmar Zuniga makes music that feels both intimate and captivating: dreamy compositions full of layered harmonies, tape textures, and a strong sense of atmosphere. Her debut album 'in filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music' grew into an online cult favorite, with over 200,000 streams and the attention of Mount Eerie, among others, who invited her to support them on their summer tour. This fall, she will perform at Cinetol. Artistic universe
Zuniga started recording on tape as a teenager and has since been building a unique artistic universe of her own, in which she creates the artwork, videos, and merchandise herself alongside her music. Her ethereal sound, influenced by both psychedelic folk and the dark edges of Syd Barrett and The Fall, explores themes such as loneliness, connection, and empathy. With a monthly show on NTS Radio, performances at festivals like Rewire, and collaborations with artists including Zach Phillips (Fievel Is Glauque), her world is steadily expanding, while her music invites reflection, comfort, and connection.
