An Evening with Ven. Pomnyun Sunim
About the event
A Korean Seon (Zen) master, Ven. Pomnyun Sunim is a Buddhist monk, author, environmentalist, and social activist who has spent decades founding movements dedicated to human rights, world peace, and the eradication of famine and poverty.
In recognition of his humanitarian work, he received the Ramon Magsaysay Award — widely regarded as the Asian Nobel Peace Prize. He is internationally recognised as one of four patrons of the International Network of Engaged Buddhists, alongside the Dalai Lama.
And yet what he is perhaps best known for is something far more intimate: sitting with ordinary people and engaging their questions directly, conveying the Buddha's teachings in everyday language so that anyone, regardless of background or belief, can walk away with something they can actually use.
This session takes the form of a Casual Conversation: an open Q&A where anyone can bring any question about their relationships, work, meaning, or happiness and receive a considered response. No prior knowledge of Buddhism is required. An English translator will be facilitating throughout.
