Dinner at Shawarma Al Rayes
About the event
π₯ LADIES, WE'RE OFF TO SYRIA... VIA SHAWARMA AL RAYES! π₯
Date:17th October 2026 Time: 6pm Ladies, we're doing something a little different this time. We're heading to Shawarma Al Rayes, a Syrian restaurant with fabulous food, enormous personality and Dana, who frankly deserves her own Netflix series. I would watch it. DANA: UNFILTERED *One woman. One restaurant. Absolutely no time for nonsense.* ππ€£ This is not somewhere you go for three artistically arranged chickpeas on a plate followed by a $14 bill. You will be FED. There are wonderful Syrian breads, shawarma, dips and dishes that may cause involuntary noises at the table. There are also beautiful fresh salads and vegetarian choices, so you don't have to arrive carrying your own cucumber. π₯π The owners are delightful, the atmosphere has character, and the food is delicious. And by character, I mean this place has an actual pulse. No beige food. No beige personalities. No waiter approaching solemnly to explain the emotional journey of the beetroot. Just terrific Syrian hospitality and food with some serious attitude. β€οΈ π AND THERE'S PARKING! Actual parking. Lots of it. No circling the block seventeen times, no reverse-parking into a space designed for a Vespa, and no abandoning the car three suburbs away and completing the journey by Sherpa. ππ€£ Come hungry. VERY hungry. Because in the finest Syrian tradition, nobody is leaving Shawarma Al Rayes saying:
> *βThat was lovely. I might make myself some toast when I get home.β*
You may, however, leave saying:
> *βWhy did I eat that last piece of bread?β*
Because it was there. Because it was delicious. And because Dana would have noticed if you didn't. πππ€£ New members are very welcome. Come along, try something different and prepare for a dinner with flavour, warmth, laughter and absolutely no chance whatsoever of leaving hungry.π₯π₯β€οΈ Come for the Syrian food. Stay for Dana. Netflix, call me. πΊπ Menu: in photos down below. Money: No problems; order up the front counter individually may be better for us but there is table service.
