Nordic Spies, Bank Heists, and Art Theft/Nordic Language Practice
About the event
Join the Nordic Culture and Language Exchange Meetup Group on Sunday, September 20th as we return from our summer break! We will discuss spies, double agents, spy scandals, bank heists, and art theft associated with the Nordic countries. Come learn about the Swedish Helicopter heist, the Danish Loomis heist (The Copenhagen Job), the theft of Norway’s “The Scream”, Finland’s SUPO, Icelandic double agents in WWII, and more! Following that, we will hold conversation practice in Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, Danish, and Norwegian (pending who attends). We will meet at the L’Enfant Plaza Food Court (underneath the Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf, near the Spy Museum). Look for Nordic flag signage at the food court tables near the entrance/exit for the L’Enfant Metro (underneath the Hilton).
