Jumpstart your sewing journey with this beginner-friendly workshop! We will help you become comfortable with a sewing machine by practicing speed, direction and basic control. Learn about must-have tools and receive step-by-step guidance on how to thread the machine so you can start stitching with confidence. Ages 12 yrs+ What We’ll Cover: Introduction to sewing must-haves: needles, fabric, thread and seam rippers Machine Threading Basics Step-by-step demonstration on how to properly thread a sewing machine Understanding the bobbin, tension, and threading path Guided practice so you can thread your machine confidently on your own Hands-On Stitching Practice Learn how to control the sewing machine’s speed Practice stitching on scrap fabric to get a feel for handling fabric and guiding it through the machine Build confidence with straight-line stitching and adjusting speed as you go
