Reuben T. Caluza – The B-Side

REUBEN T. CALUZA – THE B-SIDE – is a cine-concert featuring an ensemble of singers and musicians celebrating the songs of the prolific and popular South African composer Reuben T. Caluza (1895–1969). In 1930, with his double quartet of singers, Caluza went to London to record his songs. In 2021, Composers Philip Miller and Tshegofatso Moeng released an album of fresh interpretations of Caluza’s songs. After successful performances in Johannesburg, a live concert with film projections created by the Brazilian video artist Marcos Martins will premiere in Cape Town this September!
