When I Close My Eyes and Ears, I Sense You Clearly

An exhibition performance that invites the audience to experience a diversity of sensory artworks. Through touch, listening, and sensing, an inner journey opens in dialogue with one's own expression and imagination. The artistic work is based on the principles of universal design and the needs of deaf, blind, and deafblind audience members, in interaction with the needs of hearing and sighted audiences. Sighted and hearing audience members will be blindfolded and wear ear protection. A project with several contributing artists, initiated and produced by Ayana Ishihara. Doors open 20 minutes before the performance. Participants will be asked to move barefoot and on their own through the room, wearing blindfolds and ear protection. Markings on the floor will show the way between the artworks, and hosts will assist participants throughout the experience. Wheelchair users are welcome to participate if they can leave their wheelchair and move on their own. For safety reasons, participants are asked not to use a white cane inside the room.
