Spotlight Talk: Italian Mannerism
About the event
Join us for a 30-minute talk on the history of Mannerism, an Italian painting style that featured heightened colors, distorted figures, and strange compositions. Emerging in the 1520s and 30s, the popular style of painting reveals ideas behind Renaissance conceptions of beauty.
On select UNIQLO Third Thursdays, we’re hosting short, 30-minute talks across the museum to take a special look at singular artists and artworks. Explore other spotlight talks here.
