On The Fence is a new Australian feature documentary exploring one of the country’s most misunderstood and fiercely debated animals: the dingo. Following the 5,600-kilometre dingo fence across Australia, the film brings together graziers, scientists, conservationists and First Nations voices to examine the dingo’s complicated place in Australia’s history, culture and landscape. From livestock losses and lethal control to emerging science, ecological recovery and new approaches to coexistence, On The Fence looks beyond the usual arguments to ask whether there might be a better way forward for both people and wildlife. Filmed over several years and entirely independently produced, the documentary takes audiences into remote landscapes and communities across the country, revealing a side of the dingo story rarely seen on screen.
