On 21 August 2026, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, artist Luca E Lum presents 'Political Animals' at the Aliwal Arts Centre, followed by a discussion. The presentation explores the figure of the animal in media, combining lecture, poetry, and scenography. On 22 August, from 11am to 7.30pm, open studios and an open research session feature readings from 'Scatter, Enclosure (The Herd Comes Down to Dream)'. The event is presented by Hothouse.
