Water Taxi to Ping Tom Park and Flotsam! River Circus
About the event
Let's make a day of it! The Water Taxi from Michigan Ave to Chinatown will bring us right to Ping Tom Park! There we will see the free traveling river circus FLOSTSAM! We can return by Water Taxi back to Michigan Ave.
We will meet at the Ghirardelli ice cream & chocolate place in the Wrigley Building. Then we will walk around to the back of the building to the ticket office and dock for the Water Taxi. [PLEASE NOTE: This is a different spot than the Wendella cruise ticket booth - don't buy tickets there!]
Tickets are 10 ONE WAY, but senior tickets are 5. So round trip will cost 20 or 10. Senior tickets MUST be purchased at ticket booth, not online. The alternative way back is the Red Line (10 minute walk to Chinatown). If you decide to do this, your Water Taxi ticket will be good for another date.
The Water Taxi trip takes 45 minutes: departs at 4:55 and arrives at 5:40, giving us 20 minutes to find a spot on the river bank for the circus. I've never heard of this circus before, but it sounds like good old-fashioned fun!
BRING a blanket and a bag lunch. And a light jacket.
