🇫🇷 FRENCH STEAK NIGHT — A French Cooking Experience
About the event
🇫🇷🥩 FRENCH STEAK NIGHT — A French Cooking Experience
Ready to discover how a truly perfect steak should be cooked? 🔥
For our next cooking adventure, we’re taking inspiration from authentic French cuisine and bringing the experience to Vienna.
This is a hands-on cooking workshop where we’ll prepare everything together, learn the techniques behind each dish, and then enjoy what we’ve created.
🧅 We’ll learn to make an authentic French Onion Soup
From slowly caramelising the onions to building deep flavour and finishing it with the classic gratinated cheese topping, we’ll go through the details that make the difference.
🥩 We’ll learn how to cook the perfect beef fillet
We’ll work with the fillet from start to finish:
• Cleaning and trimming • Cutting and portioning • Tempering and seasoning • Understanding the different cooking temperatures • Creating the perfect crust • French-style butter basting with garlic and herbs • Resting the steak correctly
The goal is to understand how to achieve a perfectly cooked steak every time.
🥣 We’ll make an authentic Sauce au Poivre
We’ll learn how to build a proper French pepper sauce, using beef jus and traditional techniques.
🥔 We’ll make authentic Potato Mousseline
We’ll work on the technique behind an ultra-smooth, luxurious French potato mousseline, inspired by the classic style associated with Joël Robuchon.
🍮 We’ll make authentic Crème Brûlée
From creating the silky custard to achieving that thin, perfectly caramelised sugar crust, we’ll cover all the small details that make a great crème brûlée.
🥖 And of course…
We’ll enjoy some artisanal sourdough bread alongside what we prepare.
❤️ Why €42?
The €42 contribution is used to cover the kitchen rental, ingredients, equipment and other costs needed to make the workshop possible.
The event is not organised with the intention of making a profit. The idea is simply to bring people together around something we have in common — good food, cooking, conversation and meeting new people.
