Paper Theater: Stories that Heal Agus Nur Amal is an artist and storyteller from Indonesia. His art was born from local oral tradition and uses simple everyday objects to create scenarios and characters. With the TV Eng Ong project, an improvised "TV program" with a cardboard frame, Agus brought comfort and moments of listening to children and families in temporary shelters after the 2004 tsunami. His work shows how storytelling, including difficult stories, can be a way to process experiences and care for those who listen and those who tell. This workshop starts from this simple and powerful gesture: transforming a box into theater, and one's own life story into narrative and image. Over four meetings, participants will visit the exhibition, choose and develop a life story (their own, from someone in the family or community), and build a paper box-theater to tell it. Pina Contemporânea's workshop proposal is another educational action that aims to provide a space for experimentation to the general public and allow dialogue, socialization and sharing of experiences. She holds a master's degree in performing arts and puppet theater from the USA and was trained in storytelling in the oral tradition of world cultures by great masters from Brazil, Africa, USA, Canada and England. She creates original and commissioned productions for institutions, people and companies. She has performed around the world, in Russia, Serbia, Canada, Argentina and has won several awards. She was a professor in the narratives course at Rudolf Steiner Pedagogy College. She was the translator for Agus Nur Amal's workshops and presentation during his time in Brazil this year.
