Exhibition '7 vaixells, 7 històries'
About the event
Nothing represents maritime adventures better than the image of the ship. In every era and across all seas, ships have been the instruments that have enabled human beings to trade, travel, discover, fight and, today, also to enjoy themselves. Ships are machines, yet they have a personality, a name and a character of their own, as any sailor will attest. A ship is a vehicle, but it is also a container: of objects and people, and even of experiences, stories and myths. A container that invites us to discover the unknown, like the containers featured in this exhibition. We invite you to sail through a range of narratives using different ships as the main protagonists. From the many possible approaches, we have chosen seven major universal themes: conflict, leisure, the discovery of the world, the transport of goods, piracy, travel and technological change. All the works in the exhibition form part of the collections of the MMB. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Museum ticket office. Online ticket sales are not available. Museum access via Plaça del Portal de la Pau. Last admission is 1 hour before closing. The individual ticket includes access to the temporary exhibitions and to the pailebot Santa Eulàlia . Temporary exhibitions in the entrance hall and the Mirador Space are free of charge.
