Why can the same situation feel manageable one day and completely overwhelming the next?
Sometimes the circumstances haven’t changed very much.
But our nervous system has.
On 26 September, Laila Seidel brings the first Finding Your Calm workshop to ATMA — a practical 90-minute introduction to how the nervous system responds to stress and what regulation can look like in everyday life.
We’ll look at common stress responses, how they may show up in our bodies and behaviour, and why we can sometimes react before we have even consciously understood what is happening.
Alongside the theory, Laila will guide the group through a selection of simple, evidence-informed practices.
You’ll have time to try them, notice what works or doesn’t work for you, reflect and ask questions.
The aim is not to be calm all the time.
It is to become more familiar with your own nervous system and discover a few practical things you can experiment with when stress or overwhelm appears.
No previous knowledge or experience is needed.
