An introduction to: Van Eyck: The Portraits
About the event
Join us in Supporters' House for an introductory talk on our new exhibition, ‘Van Eyck: The Portraits’, as art guide Tim Maddison introduces this historic exhibition within the calm surroundings of the Salon. Discover the remarkable world of Jan van Eyck, the artist whose extraordinary vision transformed portraiture. The exhibition brings together all nine of the artist’s surviving portraits, reunited for the first and only time in history. Through close observation and presentation, Tim will provide context for van Eyck’s works, looking at how he captured the individuality, character and presence of his sitters with unprecedented detail. Following the talk, you are invited to head into the Gallery to see the exhibition. Enjoy complimentary tea and coffee, included with your ticket. Access: For House and Exhibition Members.
