Mark Cetilia is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice exists at the nexus of analog and digital technologies. Exploring the possibilities of generative systems, Cetilia’s work is an exercise in carefully controlled chaos. Over the past two decades, he has worked to develop idiomatic performance systems utilizing custom hardware and software, manifesting in a rich tapestry of sound and image. He is a member of the media art group Redux, recipients of a Creative Capital grant in Emerging Fields for their monumental sound installation Callspace, and the electroacoustic ensemble Mem1, described by The Grove Dictionary of American Music as “a complex cybernetic entity” whose “evolving, custom-built systems are as important an aspect of the duo’s achievements as their ever-innovative sound.”
Eric Wong (b.1981) is a Minneapolis born, Hong Kong raised, Berlin based musician and sound artist whose work involves auditory perception and the exploration of human relationships with sonic environments. He often incorporates spatialized sound and reduced expressions in his work, focusing on fewer gestures instead of constructing linear sonic narratives.
Crawling out of the fractured infrastructure of Appalachian and Mid-Atlantic Rust belts, slowdanger collides sound, body, and media to generate a multidisciplinary continuum. Founded in Pittsburgh (2013) by life partners taylor knight and anna thompson, slowdanger’s sets fuse body-based performance with a sound practice bridging experimental club, noise, and ambient influences with processed vocals and rending textures, producing visceral environments that invite both listening and movement.
Zach Mason performs improvised electronic drones. His current work explores using the performance space as a sound source; recording, processing, amplifying, re-recording, re-processing, and re-amplifying room tone.
