Main Street America - Beacon NY

Join us for our last “Upstate” Meetup of the season.

*Once again, we’ll meet by the info booth/clock at Grand Central Station*

*Date: Saturday November 28nd* *Time: 9:30 am for a 9:56 am train on the Hudson Line* (Poughkeepsie Train, 8 stops, 1 hour 32 minutes)

*Fare, off peak one way: $18.50. Senior: $12.50*

We arrive in Beacon at 11:28 am. The fall is over and winter sets in but we are still looking for photographic opportunities.

Beacon is a small town with a great “all American” Main Street to explore. Old brick buildings, a classic and fun red 1950s style diner, interesting shop windows, a small waterfall and other photogenic sights await us.

A rest stop and coffee shop sit at the far end of Main Street to warm us up for the walk back, plus a fun brewery for a beverage and snack before we head back to the train.

This will be a good healthy walk with cool opportunities for lots of camera creativity.

As always, all cameras, including cellphones are welcome, as are all folks of all skill levels.

Don't forget your charged batteries and empty memory cards. Tripods are not needed on this photo-walk. All-purpose zoom lenses are suggested.

Please be on time! The NYC Subway System is a hellscape of unimaginable delays that will wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul. Plan your trip with some extra time! You will not want to miss the train which, I promise, will not wait for you!
