Explore the streets around Shakespeare’s Globe with our expert Guides on our new Shakespeare’s True Crimes Walking Tour and discover the intriguing criminal history of the Bankside area and its people, including Shakespeare himself. As you wander along the Thames, you’ll learn why Shakespeare was summoned to appear in court no fewer than three times; and why duels, violence and even murder between rival actors and playwrights, including the likes of Christopher Marlowe and Ben Jonson, were more common than you’d imagine in Early Modern England. Tickets include entry to our exhibition, where visitors can discover the history and magic behind Shakespeare’s Globe. These violent delights have violent ends Romeo and Juliet, Act II, scene 6 Tours start in the main foyer of Shakespeare’s Globe and end at Guildhall. They do not include access into the Globe Theatre. All tours are always delivered in English. Tours go ahead in all conditions so dress for the weather. Please note, we do not store luggage.
