Modeling Library

At Ateliê Vivo's modeling library, participants examine the many operations that make up garment construction and consider questions of identity, gender, diversity, autonomy, environment, sustainability and production methods. Visitors work through every stage of building a piece of clothing, from cutting to sewing, using the space's machinery and tools. Patterns can be used as provided, modified, personalized and/or remixed. Each participant creates their own study path and explores their creativity, working to construct a garment with guidance on equipment use, machine operation, pattern reading and sewing techniques. Knowledge is shared between participants and instructors in a collaborative dynamic where all can exchange skills and experience.
