Improv is where creativity, collaboration, and quick thinking come together. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, meet new people, improve communication skills, or simply have fun, this two-level improv program at G5A offers a welcoming space to learn, experiment, and play.
Both the Beginner and Intermediate courses consist of 8 sessions of 90 minutes for each session and conclude with a live showcase at G5A’s Black Box.

Beginner Improv:
Perfect for anyone new to improv. Through games, exercises, and scene work, participants will learn the fundamentals of improvisation while building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills.

Intermediate Improv:
Designed for participants with prior improv experience who are ready to deepen their practice. The course explores scene structure, finding the game, character work, ensemble building, and introductory long-form improvisation.

Performers looking to strengthen their scene work
About the Instructor – Sahir Mehta:
Sahir Mehta is an actor and improviser trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He is the co-creator of It Takes 2, a fully improvised play staged at NMACC and NCPA, a core member of Medium Sized Improv, and co-producer of On the Spot. With over five years of teaching experience, Sahir’s classes focus on building strong fundamentals in a supportive, collaborative, and highly interactive environment. He believes anyone can be funny, and will help you find your unique voice in a fun, safe environment.
