Building the Ecosystem: Sustaining the Work
About the event
You found your role. Now how do you sustain it?
Join us for the second session of the Building the Ecosystem series. This interactive workshop, led by Julian Codling-Williams (I-O Psychology Ph.D. candidate and LRP Grants & Database Manager), takes the Social Change Ecosystem framework from Session 1 and asks the next question: how do we keep doing this without burning out?
You will learn how different ecosystem roles face distinct burnout patterns, from crisis fatigue for frontline responders to connection exhaustion for weavers. You will map your own demands and resources, build sustainability practices you can actually commit to, and connect with an accountability partner through the permanent Seattle-area social change network.
This workshop is for anyone doing social change work at any level, whether you attended Session 1 or are joining for the first time. Burnout does not check your resume. Neither do we.
This session bridges directly into Lavender Rights Project's 10-year anniversary celebration on September 19, 2026, centering an Afrofuturism theme and a curated book list of 26 titles in partnership with The Seattle Public Library. The future we are building requires us to still be here to build it. Learn more about the series framework at www.socialchangemap.com
