Inspiration, Perspiration, Frustration: Overcoming Creative Blocks
About the event
Have a great idea but just can’t seem to get started? Or perhaps nothing you create seems good enough? All artists, no matter how skilled or dedicated, get stuck at some point in their creative lives. It’s frustrating, but it doesn't have to be the end of the road. In this workshop, we’ll explore different ways to overcome creative blocks by using humour and self-compassion. We’ll discuss different techniques to move past our roadblocks, and explore some of the reasons why our creativity can get stuck. We’ll also talk about how to keep the well of inspiration filled, habits that promote good creative flow and why doing nothing is sometimes the best cure. During this workshop, you can expect to participate in one solo and two collaborative exercises. *** This program is supported by the Friends of The Vancouver Public Library, a community of library lovers who volunteer, fundraise, and advocate i n support of the Vancouver Public Library. The Friends also operate book’mark, The Library Store, on the main level of Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library. *** Accessibility: VPL is committed to making our programs accessible for all.
