Just One Cookbook: Essential Japanese Recipes
About the event
In September, we'll cook from Namiko Chen's Just One Cookbook.
We’ll be meeting at Donna and Jon's home in Noe Valley. Please bring at least one recipe’s worth of food, prepared for 6 to 8 people.
Post your recipe in the comments before Wednesday, September 16, to keep your spot at the table. You'll be moved to "Not Going" if you don't post. You'll receive the address on Wednesday if you do post your dish.As always, no shows and cancellations will get you removed from the group. Please let us know of any allergens in your dish beforehand and substitute if possible. ---
With 33 recipes, this cookbook includes the classic chawanmushi, gyudon, and tamagoyaki, as well as modern favorites like California rolls and green tea ice cream. Nami focuses on the authentic methods on how the Japanese cooks prepare these delicious meals at home.
You'll learn to make chicken teriyaki just like how her grandmother and mother taught her. The book also includes essential pantry items and cooking basics like making perfect steamed rice, sushi rice, and dashi soup stock. These published recipes have been tested and highly rated by her worldwide blog readers, so you too can make them in your kitchen with ease and confidence.
