About the event
At this conversation about Los Angeles as muse, mirror, and home, artist Guadalupe Rosales—whose new book East of the River: A Memoir of Los Angeles Girlhood chronicles her East Los Angeles upbringing—will be joined by two fellow art world veterans whose work has been equally shaped by the city, Carolina Miranda and Pilar Tompkins Rivas. Moderated by LACMA curator Rita Gonzalez, they'll reflect on how L.A. has influenced their creative practices, their identities, and the communities they've built.
After the talk, Rosales will sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase.
This program will take place outdoors on the plaza level of the David Geffen Galleries.
