Adulescence: A Club for Tired Parents
About the event
Here's the translation, keeping the same tone: We used to have adorable kids. Cuddly, smiling, telling us "I love you" and asking our opinion on absolutely everything, including the color of their socks. And then one day, with no warning, no instruction manual, no idea what fatal mistake we'd made, they turned into teenagers (or young adults still living under our roof, which amounts to the same vibe, except now they also have access to our wifi, our fridge… and often our wallet!). It's official: we raised Gremlins. We still don't know exactly when we "fed them after midnight," but the result speaks for itself: grunts instead of sentences, doors slamming like they're training for the Olympics, a fridge emptying at a speed that defies the laws of physics, and that look somewhere between contempt and despair they save especially for when we dare speak to them before noon (or speak to them at all). So what is this group? A place where we're NOT looking for miracle solutions (we're not shrinks, we're not magicians, we haven't even found the manual). Just a warm, honest, slightly unhinged space where we can vent, let loose, and most of all laugh together, because if we don't laugh, we cry, and crying, even when it's sometimes necessary, is exhausting and gives you a headache. Who can come? Any parent of a teenager or young adult who loves them to bits while secretly wondering why mandatory military service isn't a thing anymore? No judgment. No unsolicited advice. Just tired adults who get it, over a MEAL (and probably a fit of laughter). The format We'll meet over dinner, small group (15 people max, so everyone can actually talk and not just nod politely). 25€ per person for a main and a dessert (drinks not included, because we'll probably need them). (An French-speaking group will soon be created for parents in the same situation, stay tuned!)
