Our read-aloud is back! This time, let’s read outdoors while this blissful in-between weather still lingers. 🌿
Kim Choyeop’s ‘*If We Cannot Go at the Speed of Light’* is a collection of thought-provoking science fiction short stories that explore deeply human questions within imaginative futures.
For our first outdoor read-aloud, we’ll be reading “Archival Loss,” a story that explores memory, identity, and the boundaries between human connection and technology. It invites us to reflect on what it means to preserve someone’s memory, whether we can ever truly know the people we love, and what remains of a person when their memories are preserved.
What to Expect: We’ll take turns reading the story aloud as a group, then dive into an open discussion to share thoughts, favorite passages, questions, and reflections.
No need to read in advance—but if you’d like to, feel free!
Can’t get a copy in time? Message and let us know so we can share one on-site.
