Festival of Lights – Opening Night Walk ✨ Social Butterfly Club 🦋
About the event
Join us for the opening night of the Festival of Lights and explore Berlin glowing in all kinds of colours! ✨
We’ll start the evening by watching the opening of the TV Tower light installation at 19:00 and then walk together through the city centre towards Brandenburg Gate, stopping along the way to admire the illuminations, take photos and enjoy the festival atmosphere.
Since it’s opening night, expect it to be crowded! That’s why we have a few tricks to make sure our butterflies don’t get lost. 🦋
🌈 Dress colourful!
Wear a colourful jacket, coat or outfit – the brighter, the better! Not only does it fit the Festival of Lights perfectly, it also makes it much easier for us to recognise each other in the crowds. And most importantly:

I’ll be carrying a yellow umbrella throughout the evening. If the group starts moving, follow the umbrella!

18:45 – We leave! We’ll walk together towards Neptune Fountain, where we want to be in time to watch the TV Tower illumination launch at 19:00.

The later times are approximate. We’re here to enjoy the lights, not race through Berlin, so timings may change depending on the crowds and how long we stop along the way.
