Summer holiday at NEMO Science Museum

Summer begins at NEMO! From July 4 to August 30, there is a packed program at the museum. Participate in real scientific research at Science Live, be amazed by the Chain Reaction, and experiment to your heart's content in the Lab. In the Makerij, you can choose from three unique workshops. And dive into the world of games at the new exhibition Game On. Finish off with a treat on the roof and see what is growing and blooming there. Demo: The AI Challenge Who is real and who is created by AI? In this challenge, you will meet six gamers ready for an online game. Hidden among these digital players is only one real human. Can you unmask the AI gamers? Look closely, compare, and learn how to tell real from fake. This demo can be seen several times a day in the Auditorium from July 4 to July 26. The Makerij In the Event Hall on the ground floor, you will find 3 special workshops in the Makerij. Play with reflections You usually use a mirror to look at yourself. But did you know that you can also do all kinds of experiments with it? Play with reflections and create a ghost apparition. Speak in code With short and long beeps and the Morse alphabet, you can form letters and pass messages to each other. You can even control a train with it. Make a mini-movie When you see different images in quick succession, your brain combines the images. They appear to move. It works the same way when you watch a movie. Get started and draw your own mini-movie. Science Live: Discover your brain Your brain is working all day long. It helps you pay attention, react quickly, perform tasks, and ignore distractions. How does that actually work? At Science Live, from July 4 to 10, you can participate in research and activities about the brain. Your brain in action Participate in fun brain games and challenges while researchers from Amsterdam UMC Research measure which parts of your brain are active. Meet a brain researcher Watch how researchers measure brain activity, try out a task yourself, and ask a real scientist all your questions. Game On Exhibition Video games are now bigger than the film and music industries combined. But what do they do to us? In the exhibition, you will discover how games are changing the way we play, meet, and express ourselves. For seasoned gamers as well as for people who have never held a controller. From July 11 on the second floor of the Theater. Also not to be missed Starting Wednesday, July 15, there will be water experiments on the roof every Wednesday afternoon, in collaboration with Waternet. Furthermore, you can build your own chain reaction, perform experiments in the laboratory, and the Chain Reaction will be shown extra often.
