About the event
Making new friends as an adult isn’t always easy. You can meet plenty of people in Vancouver, but turning those encounters into genuine friendships can be the difficult part.
That’s why we created Fast Friends — a fun, hosted social evening that takes the awkwardness out of meeting strangers and makes it easy to start real conversations.
This time, we’re bringing Fast Friends to Alibi Room in historic Gastown — a character-filled, relaxed setting with great drinks and a social atmosphere that’s perfect for meeting new people and continuing conversations after the hosted part of the evening.

You’ll have fun icebreakers and engaging conversation prompts to help you start talking, discover common interests and have conversations that actually go somewhere.
Our host Lillian will guide the evening, make introductions and help you feel comfortable throughout — especially if you’re coming on your own.

🕖 How the Evening Works 7:00 PM – Welcome & Check-in Meet Lillian, grab a drink and get introduced to other attendees. If it’s your first time, arriving a little early gives you time to settle in. 7:30 PM – Fast Friending Enjoy a series of relaxed 3-minute conversations, giving you the chance to meet lots of different people in one evening. 8:30 PM onwards – Open Socialising Stay, relax, grab another drink and continue chatting with the people you’ve met.
📍 Alibi Room 157 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1B8 Located in historic Gastown, Alibi Room offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with plenty of character — a great setting for an evening of drinks, conversations and new connections.
🌟 Coming Alone? You’re in great company. Most people attend on their own, and you won’t be left standing by yourself. Lillian will welcome you, make introductions and help you get involved from the moment you arrive. RSVP numbers don’t tell the whole story. Members from 8 local Meetup groups are also invited, so the final group can be considerably larger than the RSVP number shown here.
