Board Games For Beginners】Chat & Play Cave/チャット & プレイケイブ【新宿/Shinjuku】

This is a paid event, and the participation fee is payable on site. Please note that this is not an event where you play board games with the staff. Participants will mainly play games with other participants. The event may be canceled if there are not enough participants. If that happens, we will let you know in the chat.

Overview

Come enjoy board games with people you may not usually get the chance to meet. This event is designed to make it easy for both Japanese and international participants to sit down at the same table and start playing together. You do not need to be experienced with board games. We will mainly choose games that are easy to learn, fun to play, and simple enough to enjoy with new people. You also do not need perfect Japanese or English. If everyone can understand the basic rules and enjoy the game together, that is enough. Feel free to come alone. Staff will help organize groups and introduce games when needed.

About the Cafe

The event will be held at Little Cave Shinjuku South Exit, a board game cafe located just a few minutes from Shinjuku Station. We have over 1,000 board games, from simple party games to strategy games, as well as a full food and drink menu. You can order meals, snacks, desserts, soft drinks, and alcohol during the event. *Outside food and drinks are not allowed.

About the Games

We will mainly play games that are easy to explain and quick to start. The goal is not to spend a long time learning rules, but to get people playing together as soon as possible. We will also try to introduce games that some participants may not have played before, rather than playing only very familiar titles. If there is a game you really want to play, feel free to suggest it to the other participants. For more complicated games, please make sure everyone at the table agrees before starting.

Price and Time

This event will be held on Friday, October.9 The event runs from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You are welcome to arrive at any time during the event. You can join midway through, and it is perfectly fine to leave early. The participation fee is 1,500 yen, and it includes one free drink worth up to 450 yen.

There is an elevator that goes directly to the 7th floor. Admission begins at 3:00 p.m. When you arrive, please tell the staff that you are participating in the event. You will receive a name tag for the event.

Prohibited Activities

(1) Any kind of pick-up behavior, unwanted romantic or sexual approaches, or behavior intended mainly to find a date. (2) Discriminatory, harassing, or offensive behavior, including conversations about religion or politics that may make other participants uncomfortable. (3) Solicitation of any kind, including religion, investments, pyramid schemes, affiliate marketing, business recruitment, or similar activities. (4) Repeated or persistent requests to exchange contact information. (5) Excessive aggression, abusive language, intimidation, or other offensive behavior. (6) Smoking inside the cafe or around the building. (7) Bringing in outside food or drinks. (8) Any other behavior that the staff considers disruptive or inappropriate. Anyone who seriously violates these rules may be asked to leave the event.
