HCH: Congressman Jared Huffman in Conversation with Sasha Sagan and Greg Epstein
About the event
We're delighted to invite you to our sister organization's big Fall launch event, as the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard and MIT welcomes Congressman Jared Huffman!
"Come join the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard & MIT for an evening with Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA) about his new book, *No Prophets: The Fight to Save Democracy from Christian Nationalism*. In conversation with esteemed author and filmmaker Sasha Sagan and Humanist Chaplain at Harvard & MIT Greg Epstein, these humanist leaders will discuss the grip that Christian nationalistic ideologies have on government.
This event will take place on Thursday, September 3rd at 7pm in the Thompson Room of Harvard University’s Barker Center, 12 Quincy St., Cambridge. A copy of the book will be included with each $35 ticket, which will be available for pickup at the venue. A book signing and meet-and-greet with Jared Huffman will occur after the event. ***
The Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard and MIT is dedicated to building an inclusive community of atheists, agnostics, and allies at Harvard, MIT, and beyond: we are creating a new model for how humanists celebrate life, promote reason and compassion, and better the world for all. Humanism is a progressive life stance that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment, aspiring to humanity's greater good. The purpose of this event is to introduce the chaplaincy to the MIT community and create space for alums of both schools to share thoughts on the future direction of humanism.
