Overbearing mom? Yes. Silent dad? Also yes. Creative crisis and constant feeling of unfulfillment? They're there! Arek Pasożyt really has it rough. To break free from a hopeless situation, he decides to leave for the Tatras for the first time in his life. There he stumbles upon the trail of the greatest painting in Polish history – the monumental (115x16m!) Panorama of the Tatras, lost over 130 years ago. He decides to find it.
Arek cycles through the charming villages of Podhale and climbs the Tatra ridges. During his search he battles the August sun, fragile human memory and a faulty camping stove. Discovering successive pieces of the puzzle, he learns more and more about history from years past, but also about himself.
With his mom overseeing his every step, misunderstanding from the art world and his own doubts, does Arek have a chance to accomplish something as great as the painting he's searching for? "Arek.Mama.Panorama" is a tender, humour-filled portrait of a man fighting for his dreams, in which everyone will find a piece of themselves. At some point in life, we're all Areks.
