🌅 Stadtwanderweg 1a – Sunrise Hike to Leopoldsberg
A challenge should actually feel like a challenge, right? 😄
Last time we hiked through the forest at night, which definitely wasn’t easy. This time we’re taking it one step further — we’re waking up before everyone else and heading to Leopoldsberg to watch the sunrise 🌄
And honestly, there could hardly be a better place in Vienna for it.

🕔 Time: 05:00
📍 Start & Finish: Nußdorfer Platz
📏 Distance: 11 km
⏱ Walking time: approx. 3–4 hours
The route will take us from Nußdorf along the Danube to Kahlenbergerdorf, then up the famous Nasenweg to Leopoldsberg (425 m), where we’ll enjoy the early morning views over Vienna and the Danube.
From there we’ll continue towards Josefinenhütte, where we’ll collect our next Wanderpass stamp ✔️, then pass Kahlenberg before heading back down to Nußdorf.
🥾 The route includes a proper uphill section, so basic fitness and comfortable shoes with good grip are required.

Before the hike, I will share a registration form there and create a separate group for confirmed participants.
What is the Challenge: we’re hiking all Vienna Stadtwanderwege and collecting stamps in the Wanderpass.
